Sorcerer Kingdom (魔導国) is a newly founded nation in the New World. It is ruled by Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown, who is attempting to turn it into a utopia for all races. While starting out as a land-locked city-state, it is continuously growing stronger and expanding territory, resources, and influence with each new conquest.

Background

The Sorcerer Kingdom was an idea born in the mind of Nazarick's 7th Floor Guardian, Demiurge, after he took a joke by Momonga, the last of the Supreme Beings, about world domination literally.[1] This misunderstanding was only strengthened when Momonga changed his name to Ainz Ooal Gown and ordered the NPCs to make that name "an eternal legend in this world." Afterward, Demiurge shared his epiphany with his fellow NPCs and they fully committed themselves to the misguided dream of making Ainz the Overlord of the New World.[2]

Reconnaissance

Upon arriving in the New World, Nazarick began doing reconnaissance to ascertain the situation. Taking advantage of a nearby settlement named Carne Village being attacked, Ainz saved the villagers and captured the attackers for interrogation. From this Ainz learned of the world's monetary system and the three nations surrounding Nazarick: the Re-Estize Kingdom, Baharuth Empire, and Slane Theocracy.[3]

To learn even more about the New World, Nazarick scouted the neighboring countries.[4] Ainz partnered with Narberal Gamma and infiltrated the Adventurer's Guild under the aliases "Momon" and "Nabe" to gain access to their information network.[5] Meanwhile, Sebas Tian and Solution Epsilon infiltrated the Re-Estize Kingdom,[6] and Demiurge went on a recon mission to the Roble Holy Kingdom.[7] Finally, Shalltear was sent to abduct bandits to learn more about the New World's unique powers.[8]

First Threat

During Shalltear Bloodfallen's mission, she successfully located one such human who possessed a mastery over Martial Arts. However, due to her carelessness and lax attitude in capturing him, the situation quickly escalated catastrophically where Shalltear's presence was made known to a group of Human Adventurers that reported her existence to the local Adventurer's Guild. Eventually in a panic to cover her tracks, Shalltear half haphazardly unleashed her Vampire Familiars in the nearby forest in order to eliminate the lone ranger scout sent to report back to the Guild. However, it unexpectedly resulted in her minion being completely destroyed by an unknown force of powerful humans. In anger for this further interference to the already chaotic situation, Shalltear herself personally entered into the battle against the unknown group and upon seeing that they possessed note-worthy enough power to make up for her shortcoming, attempted to capture them in order to salvage her original mission's objective and appease her master. This however instead resulted in her being partially brainwashed by a World Item and resulting in her "revolting" against Nazarick.

Although the incident was quickly covered up by the efforts of Ainz and the Floor Guardians, this caused their master's paranoia and wariness of the New World's inhabitants to increase exponentially due to realizing that there was indeed forces in the New World that could genuinely harm him and his children. This then caused and motivated him to increase Nazarick's power, resources, numbers, and intelligence about the New World no matter the cost a top most priority in order to insure their safety. Eventually leading to the full blown military conquests that would lay down the foundation for the Sorcerer Kingdom.

Small Conquests

Over time and further exacerbated by the incident with Shalltear, the NPCs grew more ambitious and convinced Ainz to massacre the local Lizardman tribes and turn them into Undead to bolster their forces.[9] Finding this suspicious, Ainz sent the 5th Floor Guardian, Cocytus, to do the deed. However, the latter gained a respect for the Lizardmen and requested they be subjugated instead, which Ainz accepted. This also confirmed Ainz's suspicions that the NPCs were evolving, so he needed to be careful lest they might turn on him.[10]

The arrival of Nazarick also greatly upset the natural balance within the Great Forest of Tob, causing more dangerous monsters to appear. This threatened the nearby Carne Village, which had been indebted to Ainz ever since he saved them.[11] To put an end to it, Ainz slew one of the Forest apex monsters, the "Giant of the East." Afterward, he turned it into a Zombie and had it attack Carne Village to test its fortifications. During the assault, Lupusregina Beta, whom Ainz had ordered to keep surveillance on the village, saved the lives of Village Chief Enri and Nfirea. As a result, the villagers once again felt indebted to Ainz, securing their loyalty.[12]

Demonic Disturbance

During his infiltration of the Royal Capital of the Re-Estize Kingdom, Sebas came in conflict with the criminal organization Eight Fingers.[13] In response, Ainz to ordered their destruction. However, Demiurge believed they might be useful and instead planned to take control of the organization.[14]

In order to create a distraction while they took control of Eight Fingers, Demiurge, alongside his Evil Lords, the Pleiades, and Shalltear, attacked the Royal Capital, leading to a great battle with the Kingdom and Adventurer's Guild.[15] To hide their identities, Demiurge created an alias named "Jaldabaoth"[16] while the Pleiades acted as his "Demon Maids". The attack also aimed to increase the reputation of Ainz's adventurer persona, Momon, which they accomplished by feigning being driven off by him, causing him to become the hero of the Kingdom. In addition, Nazarick plundered the capital's resources so they wouldn't have to worry about supplies for a time.[17]

Meanwhile, the sixth Floor Guardians, Aura and Mare, successfully took control of Eight Fingers by torturing its leaders into subservience. Now in possession of the organization's vast information network, Nazarick had effectively completed its reconnaissance.[18] Before the attack, Demiurge also met the Kingdom's Third Princess, Renner Theiere Chardelon Ryle Vaiself, who became a spy for Nazarick.

Workers Invasion

With preparations complete following recent victories, Demiurge announced his plan to turn Nazarick into an independent nation on the public stage. Up until this point, Ainz had been unaware of the NPCs' true intentions, merely acting to ensure Nazarick's safety. Now having no idea as to what was going on and not wanting to be exposed as inept, Ainz had no choice but to play along with Demiurge's plans.[19]

As per Demiurge's plan, Ainz traveled to the Baharuth Empire as Momon and met with the Imperial Court Magician, Fluder Paradyne. He then revealed his true identity and overwhelming power to him, after which he immediately joined his cause. Ainz ordered Fluder to tell Emperor Jircniv about Nazarick's location and trick him into sending an expedition of Workers to invade it under the pretext of testing his strength.[20]

The invasion was used to test Nazarick's defenses in a cost-effective manner.[21] As planned, the Workers were defeated at little expense and survivors were to be used for experimentation. Afterward, Aura and Mare invaded the Imperial Palace, claiming it was retaliation for the invasion; which they themselves had, in fact, caused.

Aura and Mare forced Emperor Jircniv to personally travel to Nazarick and apologize for the Workers Invasion by threatening to destroy the entire Baharuth Empire if he did not comply. This was part of Demiurge's plan to conquer the Empire, using the invasion as a casus belli.[22] However, he did not inform Ainz about this, as he assumed his master was already aware of his plan; hence, when Emperor Jircniv proposed an alliance to help Nazarick claim E-Rantel in a desperate attempt to prevent war, Ainz accepted. While the Floor Guardians were initially confused as to their masters' intentions, Demiurge had assumed he was using the Empire to gain legitimacy and quickly convinced his fellow Guardians of the advantages of this. Afterward, the Guardians went over possible titles for Ainz, with him eventually deciding on Cocytus' suggestion of "Sorcerer King."[23]

Ainz's show of power intimidates his enemies into accepting the founding of his nation

Unfortunately, when the Empire and the newly founded Sorcerer Kingdom sent an envoy to the Re-Estize Kingdom with demands to cede E-Rantel, they rejected their terms and declared war on them.[24] Two months later, the Sorcerer Kingdom fought alongside the Baharuth Empire against the Re-Estize Kingdom at the Katze Plains. During the battle, Ainz showed off his military might before proceeding to massacre the Royal Army using a Super-Tier spell; all the while terrifying the Imperial Army with the display. Afterward, the Kingdom was left so intimidated that they unanimously agreed to cede E-Rantel.[25]

Meanwhile, the Kingdom's crown prince, Barbro, led a second force to Carne Village to collect information on Ainz. However, talks with the villagers turned violent. The prince's forces initially held the advantage, until Village Chief Enri used the last Horn of the Goblin General Ainz had given her to summon a huge Goblin Army, which drove off the force. Afterward, Ainz had Lupusregina Beta finish off the crown prince's remaining forces.[26]

Three months later, E-Rantel was officially ceded to the Sorcerer Kingdom. By this time, much of the populace had fled and those who could not afford to barricade themselves indoors. When Ainz arrived in procession to claim the city, a boy threw a stone at him for his father who was killed at the Katze Plains. Albedo wanted to execute him, but Momon intervened to protect the boy. To prevent more bloodshed, Ainz struck a deal with Momon: the well-respected Adamantite-ranked Adventurer became his confidant and in return, he would spare the citizens. In reality, Pandora's Actor was acting as Momon and this was all staged to allow the Sorcerer Kingdom to solidify their rule without bloodshed.[27]

The Conspiracy

Ainz thinking of the Sorcerer Kingdom's ideal future.

With the successful formation of the Sorcerer Kingdom and winning a war against the Re-Estize Kingdom, they gained a new territory added to their nation. Thus, E-Rantel, a former territory belonging to the Re-Estize Kingdom now became the capital of the Sorcerer Kingdom and was ruled peacefully, with no revolts under Ainz's reign since the day of its annexation. The citizens of E-Rantel soon were living ordinary lives with Death Knights used as city guards, Elder Liches as public servants, and Soul Eaters used to pull cargo wagons.[28]

From this moment forward, Ainz stated that his country's sole aim of rebuilding the villages was merely to collect their produce as taxes and dump them into the Exchange Box. This way, the things his citizens produced from the labor they've done would become YGGDRASIL gold coins. Through doing so, Ainz stated that the production of currency could be used to help make the Great Tomb of Nazarick even stronger.

The task of rebuilding the ruined villages destroyed by the Slane Theocracy would be done with second or third sons of a family who did not have their own farm to work. Ainz promised to grant these people a plot of land and sent them out there. Because they had been attacked in the past, he permitted the Death Knights and Soul Eaters to go with them as bodyguards, ordering them to help the villagers with their farm work and heavy labor.

At the same time, since the undead were on loan by both his country's citizens and traders, Ainz also planned to collect additional rental fees on them in the future, as well as the agreed taxes. However, the newly founded nation was not without its own share of inner problems. As it is a non-human nation, no merchants were willing to trade with them. Also, due to the superior fighting prowess of the undead, adventurers became obsolete, causing the Adventurer's Guild to go into decline.

To deal with the latter, Ainz decided to change adventurers into explorers of the unknown, funded by the Sorcerer Kingdom. Another idea brought up by the Sorcerer King was to create a type of training facility, such as a labyrinth filled with Nazarick's POP undead for adventurers to train at. This way, a group of adventurers could delve into it and work together on fighting the undead before heading out to explore the far reaches of the unknown.[29]

On the other hand, the Sorcerer Kingdom sent their diplomat Albedo accompanied by Death Cavaliers to open formal relations with the Re-Estize Kingdom. While there, she worked with Eight Fingers and manipulated lower-class nobles into becoming supporters for the Sorcerer Kingdom in preparation of annexing the Kingdom. She also ordered Eight Fingers to import large quantities of food to the Sorcerer Kingdom, taking care of the problem of no one trading with it. Albedo stated that the large-scale food production started by the Sorcerer King is already underway. Additionally, the Eight Fingers is now using Ainz's Death Knights as heads of several divisions in their organization and the skeletons that were tasked with handling the mines.[30]

Meanwhile, Ainz traveled to the Baharuth Empire to recruit adventurers for his new Adventurer's Guild. To do so, he challenged and defeated the current Martial Lord, displaying the power of the Sorcerer Kingdom. Ainz also visited Emperor Jircniv, unknowingly intervening and ruining a secret meeting he was having with the Slane Theocracy, preventing the two from forming an alliance against the Sorcerer Kingdom. Afterward, the Emperor gave up on opposing the Sorcerer Kingdom and requested Ainz to allow the Empire to become its vassal state. Ainz would, however, only accept such a thing if it was done officially.[31] Three days while later, the Sorcerer Kingdom received an official request for vassalization from the Empire. However, Ainz left handling it to Albedo and Demiurge, as he had shifted his focus to the Dwarf Kingdom.[32]

Ainz spoke about all sorts of experiments being secretly carried out by the Sorcerer Kingdom to strengthen Nazarick. Thus far, the Head Librarian and Demiurge were experimenting with the creation of scrolls out of various races. As for Nfirea and Lizzie, the two were focusing on creating new potions under Ainz's order. Fluder was given the task of managing magic items. With other roles taken by these individuals, Ainz's next objective was to convince the dwarves of Dwarf Kingdom to take charge of manufacturing rune weapons in the Sorcerer Kingdom.[33]

Journey to the Unknown

Ainz and his guardians journeying to the Dwarf Kingdom.

As he has this objective in mind, Ainz hoped to open up trade relations with the Dwarf Kingdom for the first time during his journey there. One of these beneficial deals he succeeded with the Regency Council was offering to lend the undead to the dwarves for various purposes. This way, the dwarves could somehow benefit from using the undead as a form of manual labor and military force. The Dwarf Kingdom was also promised the Sorcerer Kingdom's high-quality foodstuffs and wines. In return, however, the Sorcerer Kingdom would receive their nation's ores and runesmiths for craftsmanship as agreed upon with their arranged trade deal. On the other hand, another deal he promised was having himself and his servants grant them military aid. The kind of military aid where he would help them with re-conquering the ancient capital of Feo Berkana from the Quagoa and the Frost Dragons.[34]

As promised, Ainz and his servants forced the Quagoa and the Frost Dragons out of their capital. Once they retook the royal capital of the Dwarf Kingdom back from the Frost Dragons, the Sorcerer Kingdom was able to gain the dwarfs' trust while smoothly moving forward with their trade deals. Fulfilling their end of the bargain, the Dwarf Kingdom handed over the runesmiths and ores to the Sorcerer Kingdom without a problem. Henceforth, the runesmiths, along with their families ended up migrating to the Sorcerer Kingdom for a living, swearing loyalty to their nation's ruler, Ainz Ooal Gown.

Meanwhile, Albedo and Demiurge handled the matter of the Empire's vassalization and wrote a draft with terms that were mostly favorable towards them. Demiurge later reported this to Ainz along with activities and plans for the Holy Kingdom.[35]

Sometime later, the dwarves settled in Carne Village after migrating to the Sorcerer Kingdom and peacefully coexisted alongside the humans, goblins, and other residents. Not only that, as most of the Quagoa were massacred by the Sorcerer King's aides, the nation began taking in all of the remaining survivors under their rule. Moreover, after the fall of the White Dragon Lord, the Sorcerer Kingdom recently subjugated its followers, the Frost Dragons under their rule. Lupusregina said that the frost dragons were currently being used as air freights, aiding the Sorcerer Kingdom with the transportation of goods.[36]

The Paladin of the Holy Kingdom Arc

Continuing the Sorcerer Kingdom's aim of world domination, Demiurge secretly conquered the vast wilderness known as Abelion Hills. He then forced its demi-human inhabitants into a huge allied army and attacked the neighboring Roble Holy Kingdom, laying siege to its northern regions.[37] Afterward, he began taking citizens to prison camps where he skinned them to produce magic scrolls for the Sorcerer Kingdom. In order to hide his connections to the Sorcerer Kingdom, Demiurge did all of this under his Jaldabaoth guise.[38]

By the time envoys from the Holy Kingdom Liberation Army arrived in E-Rantel, the Sorcerer Kingdom had once again expanded its influence since their business with the Dwarf Kingdom. They had subjugated the Frost Giants of the Azerlisia Mountains and taken control of the ghost ship that haunted the Katze Plains. Meanwhile, humans and demi-humans, including Toadmen, Rabbit Men, Lizardmen, and Goblins, were starting to coexist, with some even working jobs. Dwarves were also hired to build roads and houses to accommodate the different races using undead laborers. In addition, the Empire's vassalization had been completed.

Meeting the Sorcerer King

The Holy Kingdom's envoys' audience with Ainz

During their audience with Ainz Ooal Gown, the envoys requested to be lent Momon to help liberate their nation. However, when Ainz asked what they had to give in exchange, they could only offer their gratitude. Despite their progress, Momon was still necessary to keep order and thus, could only be lent out after at least three years. Despite this, Ainz decided to lend Momon to them in two years. After the meeting, Ainz secretly approached the envoys and struck another deal with them; he would personally help retake the Holy Kingdom while teleporting back and forth to the Sorcerer Kingdom to prevent his absence from being noticed, and in return, they would give him the rights to take control of Jaldabaoth's Demon Maids. While Ainz seemed to be acting on his own, he was actually following a plan Demiurge laid out to him.[39]

Upon arriving in the Holy Kingdom, Ainz proved to be instrumental in the Liberation Army's early victories. This greatly improved public opinion towards the Sorcerer Kingdom, which up until that point had been rather negative.[40] He also gave the bodyguard assigned to him, Neia Baraja, a magic bow which he claimed was made using runecraft in an attempt to advertise the Sorcerer Kingdom's latest endeavor. Over time, the trust of the Holy Kingdom's citizens turned into devotion and they build a cult-like following around him.

After a while, Demiurge stopped giving Ainz instructions, believing this would allow him to improve on his plan. However, this instead made Ainz afraid of messing up the plan. To get himself out of the situation, he claimed to Demiurge and Albedo that the Sorcerer Kingdom needed a practice drill in case he were to die and they began planning to fake Ainz's death. Demiurge had an Evil Lord take on the guise of Jaldabaoth and attack Ainz while the Pleiades acted as his Demon Maids. After putting up a show for onlookers, they successfully faked his death. Afterward, the Sorcerer Kingdom spread the news of Ainz's supposed demise to see how everyone would react.[41]

To guarantee the Liberation Army's victory, Ainz had CZ2128 Delta join them by having her state she was one of Jaldabaoth's Demon Maids and he had taken control of her. During one of their battles, the Liberation Army allied themselves with a race known as the Zern, who later migrated to the Sorcerer Kingdom in search of refuge.[42]

Meanwhile, Ainz secretly conquered the Abelion Hills for the Sorcerer Kingdom and successfully made all its residents who weren't loyal to Jaldabaoth part of his military. When the Liberation Army was about to be defeated by Jaldabaoth and the Demi-Human Alliance, Ainz saved them by leading his new forces. He then once again fought the Evil Lord acting as Jaldaboath and defeated him in front of countless onlookers, just as planned.[43]

After the liberation, there were no qualms about the Sorcerer Kingdom claiming the Abelion Hills. In reality, this was Demiurge's plan all along: allowing the Sorcerer Kingdom to openly lay claim to the region. In addition, the Holy King, Caspond Bessarez, had secretly been replaced by a doppelgänger serving Demiurge and is currently working to destabilize the Holy Kingdom in preparation for the future annexation by the Sorcerer Kingdom. Overall, it was a huge gain for the Sorcerer Kingdom, save for Ainz failing to advertise runecraft.[44]

The Witch of the Falling Kingdom Arc

The Sorcerer Kingdom continued expanding its influence and establishing relations with other countries. In particular, they also took control of the infamous assassin group Ijaniya, who began training their personel in covert operations. At the same time, spies from the Theocracy, Kingdom, and City-State Alliance's were detected within E-Rantel, but the Sorcerer Kingdom chose to simply observe them for now. In terms of internal affairs, despite many races now freely mingling within the nation, there had been surprisingly little incidents and crime, mostly because no-one dared anger the Sorcerer King.

The Sorcerer Kingdom had been providing humanitarian aid to both the Holy Kingdom and Re-Estize Kingdom, which neither nation was in a position to refuse. As a result, the initially economically struggling nation had now found reliable trading partners. Also, because they charged lower than their compeditors, they had to readjust their own prices to the point of making no profit. The Sorcerer Kingdom's other major export was undead labor, having an ongoing trade deal with the Dwarf Kingdom. However, their main buyer was their own vassal state, the Baharuth Empire, who made drastic use of undead to cut costs.

With news of Philip's attack on the Sorcerer Kingdom's trade caravan reaching the ears of Ainz and the Floor Guardians, they arrange a lengthy meeting to discuss about it and what their response would be. By the end of the meeting, it was decided that they will impose appropriate punishments not only to the perpetrator responsible for orchestrating this raid on their goods but to the whole of the Re-Estize Kingdom as well.[45]

Later on, Albedo, the Prime Minister of the Sorcerer Kingdom went to the capital city of the Kingdom, Re-Estize to have a political meeting with the ruler while stating her reason for visiting their nation. She informed them about how the Sorcerer Kingdom's grain caravan, which was intended to be humanitarian aid to the Holy Kingdom, had been robbed by one of the citizens from Re-Estize Kingdom. Although the Re-Estize Kingdom have made several suggestions of earning the other side's forgiveness, Albedo noted that the Sorcerer Kingdom will still keep their policies the same towards this matter and not change it. As the sole representative of the Sorcerer Kingdom to be present in the meeting, the Prime Minister announced a formal declaration of war from their nation's side in-person to King Ramposa III and his courtiers. She even declared the Sorcerer Kingdom's troops a month from now will be deployed at noon. However, she states that their plan could change depending if the Re-Estize Kingdom were to attempt on marching its troops towards E-Rantel which is part of the Sorcerer Kingdom’s borders.

After one month have pass since then, the Sorcerer Kingdom have already silently invaded the Re-Estize Kingdom, conquering several cities without any problem at all using their undead army led by Cocytus. At the onset of the war with the Re-Estize Kingdom, the Sorcerer Kingdom had adopted Cocytus's suggested tactic to attack the eastern part first and then march towards the north. The western side of the Re-Estize Kingdom where the capital resides, was not marched upon at all. The main purpose of this tactic was to prevent reinforcements of other nations from interfering with the war. Furthermore, it was to also encircle the Re-Estize Kingdom by gaining control over the border with the Argland Council State and others.

While the territories of the Re-Estize Kingdom were being invaded, the Sorcerer Kingdom incorporated Shalltear's strategy of bombarding the lands and its inhabitants using the Soul Eaters that have been dropped from the sky by Frost Dragons who act like a carrier to them. On the other hand, the Sorcerer Kingdom have even prepared around three hundred Elder Liches to be used as a mean to carpet bomb a city by synchronizing their [Fireball] spells. More so, the Sorcerer Kingdom have manage to made use of their assassins, sending them into enemy territories to assassinate the head of a city. Whereupon doing this, the invasion would commence whilst the city was plunged into chaos. In addition the Sorcerer King had a council with a few sympathizers to the humans of the Kingdom. While the overall massacre of the other nation could not be stopped the sovereign consented to allow 10% of the Kingdom's population a chance mercy.

Later in the Sorcerer Kingdom campaign of the northern region, it faced resistance at E-Naeurl, by the locals but also from a member from Red Drop. Rather than retaliate and re-attack the city, the Sorcerer King decided to lay siege to the capital, intending to close the curtains on this battle. The Sorcerer Kingdom declared a systematic scorched-earth tactic for the rest of the cities. For that reason, the Sorcerer Kingdom have made it their plan to conquer the cities one by one while staging the final battle at the Re-Estize capital at the end of their conquest. Afterwards, they will go on to kill off the remaining inhabitants from all the cities except for E-Naeurl as a way to show countries from all around the New World not to oppose the Sorcerer Kingdom/Nazarick's rule or else they will suffer the same consequence like the Re-Estize Kingdom.[46]

Normally, the larger an army was, the slower it would march on the battlefield when invading enemy territory. However, according to her companion, Evileye, this should not apply to the Sorcerer Kingdom's army, which was completely comprised of the undead only. During the Sorcerer Kingdom's war against the Re-Estize Kingdom, she believes it was done that way in order to stress out their enemy’s inhabitants. For instance, when the Sorcerer Kingdom invaded Re-Estize, their move had ended up causing chaos to erupt from inside the capital city and so many people had died as a result of it. The Sorcerer Kingdom's forces numbered around 10,000, comprising 3-4 types of undead within it's ranks to fight the 400,000 men army of the Re-Estize Kingdom. Although there were talks of negotiations by Prince Zanac to convince the Sorcerer King to spare the people of the Re-Estize Kingdom, the Sorcerer Kingdom's plan to kill off a majority of them remains unchanged despite how smoothly the meeting went between the two rulers representing their respective side.

As the Re-Estize Kingdom refuses to let negotiation end this way, the Sorcerer Kingdom was approached once more for talks of negotiation by them. This time around though, the Sorcerer Kingdom was presented a decapitated head of Zanac by the nobles as an offering to Ainz so that they and their families can be spared. Nevertheless, the Sorcerer Kingdom have already made their decision clear that they have no intention of changing their plan to spare none of them whatsoever. Within a matter of one hour, it was said that the army of the Re-Estize Kingdom had disappeared completely from the face of the New World.[47]

While commencing the Fall of the Re-Estize Kingdom, the forces of the Sorcerer Kingdom came into conflict with threats like Platinum Dragon Lord and Azuth Aindra of Red Drop interfering in their conquest. Nonetheless, the Sorcerer Kingdom were able to swiftly combat the two away into retreating and leaving the human nation to ruin while successfully giving their enemies false information about the Sorcerer King thanks to Pandora's Actor posing as him. The Sorcerer Kingdom's undead forces and several Floor Guardians occupy the Royal Capital, surrounding the city all around it to prevent possible reinforcements from other nations like Argland Council State to assist it. With Ro-Lente Castle finally infiltrated and the human king Ramposa III killed, the fate of Re-Estize is in the hands of the Sorcerer Kingdom to deal with as they please. Having already brought destruction and demise to all Re-Estize Kingdom's civilization including its people and architectures, now all that was left with Nazarick's operation was to claim the fallen kingdom's territory for the glory of the Sorcerer King.[48]

The surviving nobles led by Marquis Raeven later traveled to the ruined capital city of the Re-Estize Kingdom to declare their fealty. There the Sorcerer King announced that the Sorcerer Kingdom’s army had destroyed the land of the nobles to the West and to the South of this city and will be returning soon. He ordered that the gathered nobles should administer to your lands as usual and prepare for any new territorial designations in the future. With that said the capital would be then burned to the ground by magic and Guren. The only structure that would be allowed to stand would be Ro-Lente Castle, to be left as a reminder to those that dare oppose him.[49]

The Half Elf God-kin Arc

The Sorcerer Kingdom made an unofficial visit to the Elf Country at the bequest of Ainz Ooal Gown after he gathered information on the foreign nation through the Elven Slaves. He made the trip under the pretense of taking a vacation, though the real purpose of his visit was to seek out the dark elves. The Sorcerer King was aware of the state of war between the Elf Country and Slane Theocracy, and while the outcome of the conflict meant little to him, he was concerned about the fate of the dark elves as he wanted to have some to interact with his subordinates Aura and Mare. His plan was to go to their villages and create a friendly rapport and hopefully convince them to relocate to the Sorcerer Kingdom. Though his subordinates such as Albedo did not understand his purpose of vacationing to the Elf Country, she believed that there was a more deeper reason, hence decided to prepare for the total mobilization of Nazarick, though doing so would slow down in dealing with the remnants of the Re-Estize Kingdom.[51]

Ainz brought Aura, Mare and Fenn with him to the Elf Country within the Great Forest of Evasha. While there he made observations of the Theocracy's progress in advancing towards the capital. After a few days he took his group to the elven royal capital at Crescent Lake. He infiltrated the city, using magic, though his efforts proved to be hindered by the labyrinth maze of the elf trees. It took three days for him to gather usable information, before he abducted a lone elf and charmed him with magic to provide him with directions to the dark elves.

The party from the Sorcerer Kingdom made their way into the territory of the dark elves, but were still unable to locate the nearest village. Aura then volunteered to scout ahead with Fenn. While they were searching they came across the Ankyloursus Lord, which Aura captured to be made into one of her pets. With the new monster, Ainz had a plan to use in order to garner greater admiration from the dark elves.[52]

Using the Ankyloursus Lord Ainz directed Aura to have it attack one of the largest dark elf villages. After the dark elves struggled in trying to drive the bear monster away, Aura appeared and awed them with her superior ranger abilities and drove it single-handedly. Now hailed as a hero, Aura was brought before the Council of Elders, who technically were the leaders of the settlement, were in the midst of a power struggle with the Youth Faction. Aura gave a story that she was sent ahead of her family, which included her uncle and brother. Her story was accepted by the dark elves and allowed to stay as their guest of honor until her family arrived. Whilst this happened, Ainz observed the movements of both factions of the village and saw that Aura was new focus of the internal tension, both seeking to use her or even her relatives to further their agenda.[53]

Culture

NPC Followers of Ainz Ooal Gown

The NPCs who are close aides of Ainz Ooal Gown.

In the power structure of the Sorcerer Kingdom, the most important thing wasn't one's own powers or abilities, but the fact that the NPCs were created by one of the Supreme Beings. Regardless of the difference in the NPC's levels or roles, they are still treated with respect due to being created with a given intelligence and backstory programmed to them. In other words, the NPCs, which are personal creations of the 41 Supreme Beings were given commands based on a higher level of authority over the POP monsters.[54] However, in terms of the command structure managed between these kinds of NPCs, the way they act around each other and feel compelled to obey a high-leveled NPC is still the same to some extent. For instance, this was especially the case with NPCs who were handed down the duties of being a Floor Guardian. Below the rank of Floor Guardian was said to be NPCs with the position of Area Guardian who are each led by them respectively. After the Area Guardians were supposedly the battle maid Pleiades, and then the Manservants and the Homunculus Maids.

Ranked below these NPCs, are POP monsters that are automatically spawned by the mercenary system from within YGGDRASIL. In other words, they form the servant caste. The status of the servants is based on their level and job class and are not associated in any means with the floor level they were spawned from. With the subsequent summoning experiments conducted by Ainz Ooal Gown, numerous permanent undead summons have entered into the service of Nazarick. More so, it seems that some of the undead were treated with all due respect from the Floor Guardians since they were made in part by Ainz's own creation.[55]

Overlord EP04 116

The NPCs of Nazarick displaying their fealty.

To the inhabitants of Nazarick as a whole, the former guild members of Ainz Ooal Gown besides Ainz were regarded and treated as gods that deserved their utmost respect, devotion, and undivided attention. For the NPCs however, Ainz’s words meant everything to them and he is ranked higher than any of the other Supreme Beings authority-wise with the exception of their creator. According to the author Maruyama, the foremost ranking of the order of all the NPCs' loyalty starts from one's personal creator, then Momonga (the guild master), and lastly the remaining 41 Supreme Beings.[56]

Due to a majority of the denizens living within the tomb descending from a hierarchy of demi-human and non-human racial backgrounds, humans were primarily seen as an inferior species. Most, but if not all of the creatures in Nazarick view humans as another type of specimen, toy or food. Although there are some exceptions, who are exempt from this kind of rule, which is generally ignored.

In Nazarick, various terrible experiments and tortures tend to happen frequently by either in the hands of Demiurge, Pulcinella, and members of the Five Worst. On other occasions, the victims who are captured by the Sorcerer Kingdom have also ended up being held captive in the Frozen Prison for other purposes other than to interrogate them. Demiurge made it one of his many goals to create a hybrid of monsters through interbreeding the human and demi-human lives he had taken from Re-Estize, the Abelion Hills, and the Roble Holy Kingdom 's citizens.

Nazarick inhabitants will usually treat each other with politeness, where one would expect no less from a non-human race. All denizens of Nazarick, especially the Area Guardians, they are informed, in writing, of the actions of Floor Guardians and the goals behind them. If they had any suggestions, Area Guardians can report to their superiors, the Floor Guardians. This was to unify the various denizens of Nazarick, to gain the opinions of those with different points of view and to pique the interest and curiosity of them all.

However, the inhabitants can be brutally barbarous to any outsiders who enter their ground as they are quite extremely protective of the tomb itself. Nevertheless, this general policy has been relatively flexible, due to the need for strengthening Nazarick and the advocacy of the upper echelons. For this exact reason, outsiders have been allowed to migrate into the sacred tomb, as to militarize and assimilate their general population from Nazarick with the native demi-humans and non-humans in the New World.[57] At first, non-human species that were discovered in the New World were tolerated, but it is mostly due to kinship and the original membership policy decreed by the Supreme Beings. Amongst the populace of the Sorcerer Kingdom, it was said that there are many races of demi-humans and heteromorphs in the nation who were adept at digging tunnels.

Upon seeing that more could actually be gained from incorporating conquered races rather than destroying them, Nazarick decided to alter its policy and allowed other races, such as demi-humans entry. While accepted into the non-human nation, they are still considered to be at the bottom of the social hierarchy. Despite this, the subservient races are given a fair share of protection and welfare for their benefit when living under the dominion of Nazarick.

According to the Sorcerer King, the Sorcerer Kingdom will only share their new technologies with those who are absolutely loyal to the Great Tomb of Nazarick. They will give the common folk people outdated technology which poses no threat to them. Following one of his ideologies, he believes that the “Fruit of Knowledge” only has value when they alone possess it. For that reason, Ainz refuses to let Nazarick’s technology be leak and disclose to the public, preferring to keep anything of important value or rarity confidential.

Since the founding of the Sorcerer Kingdom, Ainz stated there were currently four festivals that were planned to be held in his nation for special occasions. Among these festivals were two which are particularly called the "Sorcerer King Grand Thanksgiving" and the "Sorcerer King’s Birthday."

Due to the current abundance of cheap and fresh ingredients being brought into its capital, a food culture is slowly developing there. Foods like biscuits are currently being improved upon, and it was suggested by Sebas Tian that if more undead were rented out for agricultural purposes, that there would certainly be developments in the improvements of breeds of food. The food culture would surely blossom and perhaps its citizens could even produce food of an equal quality compared to Nazarick’s offering.

Religion

Ainz's Silent Solitude

The ideology surrounding Ainz Ooal Gown and his NPCs.

All denizens living within the Great Tomb of Nazarick worship and idolize the Forty-One Supreme Beings as gods though with the exception of few newcomers like Tuare. This is also the same for several NPCs such as the Pleiades, Floor Guardians, and Area Guardians who were created by them. An NPC's loyalty will sometimes remain with the Forty-One Supreme Beings, but with the exception of their creator's well-being who is more important to them than the rest. Therefore, the NPC created by them will without a doubt rebel and fight against the other Supreme Beings if they were ordered to do so according to their creator's wishes.

Even though almost the entirety of the Forty-One Supreme Beings have vanished, the NPCs still remembered them clearly, relying on their old sayings and items for moral support. As Momonga is the last of the Forty-One Supreme Beings, and the only one that hadn't abandoned them yet, all of the NPCs in Nazarick continued to stay faithful to him, and their creators if they were ever to return.[58] Typically, most of the NPCs in Nazarick would find their very task pleasing due to the presence of Ainz, being a Supreme Being, gave them an order to do something, as they found it to be an utmost honor and a reward to be requested by him. Items once owned by the Supreme Beings are regarded as holy relics, the kinds that were created or formerly used by their patron gods. Ainz Ooal Gown uses such items as a way to instill loyalty and gratitude towards his subjects. In a recent turn of events, a cult of worship revolving around Ainz Ooal Gown has slowly taken shape among the conquered lizardmen tribes.

In the New World, the first religion made prior to the formation of the Sorcerer Kingdom was the lizardmen from the Great Lake who came to an understanding that Ainz Ooal Gown is an undead god with the divine power to resurrect the dead. The lizardmen pay due respects to their new idol of worship, revering him as a god who brought forth innovations (with the assistance of Demiurge) and improvement towards the tribes' traditional making of fish farms. There was a temple with the statue of Ainz Ooal Gown built and maintained by the lizardmen druids. Every time they went there, the lizardmen came with the intention of offering tributes like fish and flowers to the said deity. According to Mare, the tributes conducted by the lizardmen conveyed clear feelings of admiration and worship upon Ainz Ooal Gown. It apparently demonstrates the lizardmen's determination to risk their own lives in acquiring the best items and offering it to the altar of Ainz once they return back alive.

On the other hand, for the humans that were saved by Ainz Ooal Gown or the adventurer group Darkness, there were some people from Carne Village who went out of their way to pray to them during breakfast hours. It was said that the villagers are beginning to revere them in the same image as they have with their gods. After being met with numerous threats by the Re-Estize Kingdom, the villagers would rally together in a protest which later became an act of rebellion against Re-Estize rule. Though originally part of the Re-Estize Kingdom, the people's loyalty to Ainz Ooal Gown and the newly-founded Sorcerer Kingdom surpasses that of the former country they used to associate with. From the words of Enri Emmot, despite their ruler being an undead, their loyalty remains unchanged, seeing as her people still had more faith in Ainz Ooal Gown than anyone alive.

Within the Baharuth Empire, there was one notable individual by the name of Fluder Paradyne who viewed Ainz Ooal Gown as the only god he knew of with such power in the realm of the 10th Tier. Fluder had faith in the god that rules and presides over magic for a while until he encounters Ainz Ooal Gown. After bearing witness to Ainz's magical might, Fluder immediately lost faith in the god he idolized, recanting his previous belief while also pledging new loyalty to Ainz in its stead. Furthermore, one of the Cardinals from the Slane Theocracy mistakenly thought that Ainz was their revived God of Death, Surshana, after seeing the Sorcerer King cast that spell what was believed to be part of the 11th Tier. They referred to his use of Super-Tier Magic as the magic of the gods, comparing the oral traditions and description written about Surshana similar to Ainz's. This led them to debate internally whether this event marked Surshana's return or possibly a new god appearing. After a thorough discussion about the event which unfolded in the Katze Plains, they deduced that Ainz can't actually be Surshana after all as his first follower would have told them about his reappearance.

During the war between the Roble Holy Kingdom and the Demi-Human Alliance, worship of Ainz Ooal Gown from the said human nation began with its first follower, Neia Baraja. Witnessing successful results and feats from the Sorcerer King who managed to rescue the Holy Kingdom's citizens from invasion by demi-humans and demons, Neia came to idolize Ainz Ooal Gown as their savior. Neia also made a motto/principle based on a misunderstanding she had with Ainz, where she frequently reiterates the notion that "The Sorcerer King is justice and weakness is a sin." With the motivation to adhere to this belief, she is willing to organize a staunchly cult-like group of her own kind dedicated to Ainz Ooal Gown. Currently, her group numbered over 30,000 people and is still steadily gaining many new followers apart from the victims traumatized by war, continuing to have a notable influence on the Holy Kingdom Liberation army as well.

Education

At the moment, the Sorcerer Kingdom is still following the system of racial stereotyping. However, as the citizens’ knowledge of the other races and their respective cultures increases, they would probably begin to desire various other professions. Though this change was still in its early phases, the desire for self-determination would surely blossom over time.

While Ainz Ooal Gown had advocated for talent scouting through the education sector, the Sorcerer Kingdom had yet to implement the as of now unrealistic policy of universal education for all. If the level of education rose, so will technological and cultural advancements, but it could also strengthen weaklings. Though their current policies may lead to some people with undiscovered talents to stay as farmers for the rest of their lives, Nazarick's peace was the top priority.

Ainz released Pestonya and Nigredo from their imprisonment and tasked them both, as well as Yuri Alpha, into founding an orphanage in E-Rantel. The purpose of this institution is to serve as a stepping-stone for nationwide education as well as controlling the flow of information from Nazarick to the rest of the New World.

Politics

Ainz and 100 Level NPCs

Nazarick's political influences and agendas set upon the Sorcerer Kingdom.

The highest authority in the Sorcerer Kingdom is the Sorcerer King, Ainz Ooal Gown, the Last Supreme Being of Nazarick. His sphere of territorial influence within certain regions stretches from parts of the Azerlisia Mountains, the whole Great Forest of Tob, to the entirety of the Katze Plains and the Abelion Hills. In terms of areas where human lives are thriving, Carne Village and E-Rantel happen to be living in peace under the Sorcerer Kingdom's rule. The higher-ups running the Sorcerer Kingdom implement new laws and reforms for these human areas to adopt under.

One of the changes involved getting races like dwarves, lizardmen, goblins, and others to assimilate there. This was done in a migration movement that was deemed fairly acceptable between the Sorcerer Kingdom and the nations they have friendly relations with. In addition to that, demi-humans are not permitted by the law to treat their human citizens as food and such actions are considered illegal.

On the other hand, the Sorcerer Kingdom had not passed any unique legislation whatsoever, and instead continuing the reuse of the Re-Estize Kingdom’s old laws. According to the prime minister Albedo, she is currently considering simply retaining the first edict of the Kingdom’s law and then pushing it through by force for the Sorcerer Kingdom. At the same time, the Sorcerer Kingdom is trying to push the enactment of new laws carefully and not too aggressively in a way to avoid widespread discontent with the country's populace. They believe the old laws of the Kingdom temporarily enacted in the Sorcerer Kingdom have not granted enough absolute power to the Sorcerer King, Ainz and hence, changes are still being made over the course of time. With support from some Nazarick subordinates like Abedo, Ainz is looking to determine racial unity policies, plans to trial national laws, economic policies for the Sorcerer Kingdom, etc.

Regarding internal affairs and human resources, a crime that occurs in a peaceful city as E-Rantel is immediately a matter of utmost importance to the nation, particularly Albedo who handles such matters. According to Heinrich’s law, a major accident indicates the presence of 29 minor accidents which in turn could indicate over 300 anomalies. As the Sorcerer Kingdom has adopted Heinrich's law, this enables the nation to go out of their way and respond to any and all oddities, no matter how small they may be. Albedo states that the Sorcerer King has given her free reign over all of his affairs no matter how important or insignificant they are. The Sorcerer King informs Albedo that as long as she approved of something herself, it would be fine in his eyes. However, for Albedo, to avoid any unnecessary complications, she figured it would be best to leave the right of final approval to the ruler of the nation first before following through with the decision.

In a way, there had been very little political activity amongst almost all the Floor Guardians except mainly from Demiurge and Albedo who primarily take actions for the Sorcerer Kingdom. Nonetheless, they do engage in friendly competition and joint ventures depending on the present situation in the country. When establishing connections, such as trade with other nations, diplomatic measures were mostly handled by Demiurge or Albedo as Overseer of the Floor Guardians. Not only these two alone, but NPCs like Pandora's Actor, the Pleiades, and many others work for the Sorcerer Kingdom in secrecy under a disguise different from their normal persona in Nazarick without the public knowing a clue about it.

For starters, Pandora's Actor can switch between the roles of either the Sorcerer King, Ainz Ooal Gown or act as Momon over at E-Rantel. In the case of Momon though, he does it with the intention of hearing out its people's opinion about the Sorcerer King, Ainz Ooal Gown, and his way of ruling before later relaying this piece of information over to Nazarick's side. On other occasions, there was even an instance of where the Sorcerer Kingdom would intervene in the affairs of various nations through the setup of false flag operations and conflicts secretly organized by Demiurge. Among Demiurge's nefarious works, this includes kidnapping innocent civilians to experiment on, silently assassinating the Holy Kingdom's Prince and replacing him with a puppet ruler who is tasked with ruling the foreign nation from the shadows.

Furthermore, a nation like the Baharuth Empire who surrendered its sovereignty to the Sorcerer Kingdom is known to follow the political process of vassalization. The said nation turning into a vassal state can be subjected to new changes in the laws of their homeland by the Sorcerer Kingdom. This means transferring the Empire's convicted criminals over to the Sorcerer Kingdom to be put up for court trials and later set free after being proven innocent. According to Ryraryus, mind-control magic is allowed to be used in investigating criminal activities and the felons who were involved with the crime. The Sorcerer Kingdom has also been restructuring the Empire's army with the army of undead to their advantage and as a form of joint cooperation. Everything was done this way in order to emphasize the absolute nature of the Sorcerer King and his confidants.

As a result, when it comes to foreign affairs, Sorcerer Kingdom's political power has been highly influential to an extent where they have already managed to acquire some degree of control over three of the human nations. The Sorcerer Kingdom has given the Baharuth Empire the position as being their vassal state while both the Re-Estize Kingdom and the Northern Roble Holy Kingdom, on the other hand, ends up becoming their puppet states. There is always a respective faction for each one of these nations who are in favor of supporting the Sorcerer Kingdom.

However, at times though, the Sorcerer King would be the one to take the lead in visiting nations and establishing a cordial relationship with them. It was the Sorcerer King's objective of seeking to obtain new resources like various metals from the Dwarf Kingdom which cannot be found within his current territory. Each visit he made to a foreign nation meant he must always assign himself a bodyguard or more for protection from unknown obstacles that might endanger him during his travels. His political involvement with the nations usually ended in a good note where he was able to successfully gain the latter's trust. His condition whenever he strikes a deal with a human nation was that the Sorcerer Kingdom recruits new people like demon maids and runesmiths into his country. Along the way, this includes having the Sorcerer King fulfill his end of the bargain by lending the nation either a labor force consisting of the undead, or his strength in solving/eliminating threats.

With the undead labor force and other cultural exchanges financially made with the Dwarf Kingdom, the Sorcerer Kingdom was able to muster a successful soft power to them without violence. From that nation's viewpoint, the Sorcerer Kingdom is a friendly, foreign power that they can establish social ties with and join the negotiation table on equal footing. Likewise, the same could be said with the Sorcerer King's reasoning with a few officials of E-Rantel about remodeling the Adventurer's Guild that is suitable for all kinds of races to join and take part in adventures instead of monster hunting. What the Sorcerer Kingdom provided to the Dwarf Kingdom is not just any labor force, but also military support or reinforcement that they can depend on to repels their nation's future invaders. Overall, the Sorcerer Kingdom's army of the undead has infiltrated the ranks of foreign nations' armies like the Baharuth Empire.

Nonetheless, common ideals that the Sorcerer Kingdom promotes are self-sufficiency, practicality, and egalitarianism. Any new territory or subjects must be necessary for the continued existence and upkeep of the greater whole of the Sorcerer Kingdom. Those that show the efforts of their hard work are rewarded, but those that do otherwise or harm are abandoned. All submitted races are equal under the reign of the Sorcerer King and guaranteed their prosperity.

Military Strength

Overlord Characters

The forces of Nazarick led under Ainz who can be seen holding up the flag of Ainz Ooal Gown.

The majority of inhabitants living in the Great Tomb of Nazarick have a diverse number of non-human species known to possess monstrous abilities surpassing that of humans and demi-humans. For instance, the 8th Floor Hierarchy in Nazarick contains the greatest force imaginable, defeating invaders from the Union of Eight Guilds who triumphs over the previous seven floors while only sustaining minor losses. Among them, happens to be the strongest NPC called Rubedo which stood at the top of the hierarchy. That NPC was considered stronger than any guild member of Ainz Ooal Gown including Touch Me if one does not use a World Item to combat it.

The Sorcerer Kingdom is led by the last Supreme Being: the "Sorcerer King" Ainz Ooal Gown, who has possession of eleven World Items within their arsenal for the Floor Guardians to use.[59] Given the current strength of the Great Tomb of Nazarick’s defenses, they can easily overwhelm about thirty level 100 players. In addition to that, with the help of World Items being part of their defense, Nazarick was said to be a nigh-impregnable fortress. Ainz believed that they would probably still be capable of repelling invaders like they had in the past even without his guild members around to support him on this endeavor.[60]

If 100 of the top 500 players from YGGDRASIL invaded, the likelihood that Nazarick would be breached is quite high. Worst case scenario, there is no need to actually think about Nazarick's survival rate in the event that 150 Level 100 players decide to launch an invasion. On the other hand, if Ainz activated the strongest force in the tomb, all the members within the 8th Floor, it would be considered next to impossible even for the top 150 players to triumph Nazarick at its full strength. However, the price of using them in combat would be substantially high, hence he cannot simply use them.[61]

Furthermore, the Sorcerer Kingdom have regular POP monsters ranging from level 1 to 30 that automatically spawn inside Nazarick. Along the way, they have mercenary monsters higher than level 30 which can be summoned through the price of YGGDRASIL gold. Within the special ranks of Nazarick, there are also various subdivisions of NPCs such as the Floor Guardians, Area Guardians, Pleiades, etc. that differed in terms of duties, levels, and skills. They are programmed by the Forty-One Supreme Beings to efficiently manage and excelled at their respective domains within Nazarick. Ainz Ooal Gown's army outside the realm of Nazarick is a force consisting between either Death Knights, Soul Eaters, or numerous types of undead guards.

Utilizing Shalltear's "Gate" spell for transportation, Ainz was able to send over and amass an army of one thousand undead soldiers to the Katze Plains under his command instantaneously. During the war with the Re-Estize Kingdom, the Sorcerer Kingdom's undead army is primarily composed of two hundred Death Knights, three hundred Death Warriors, and five hundred Soul Eaters for them to mount on.[62] It was said by one of the Slane Theocracy's cardinals that the Sorcerer Kingdom's military forces are assumed to be equivalent to 500 small countries, which can easily destroy a nation by itself. Over time the numbers steadily increased that during the second war on Re-Estize it was shown that it now was 10,000 strong consisting of 3-4 types of undead.

The Sorcerer Kingdom's military's standard soldiers are Death Knights and Death Warriors while using Soul Eaters as mounts, but the Sorcerer Kingdom can also deploy Death Wizards, Death Assassins, and Death Priests to supplement their army and patrol their city.[63]

On the other hand, Ainz Ooal Gown's alternative military force was said to comprise of the Nazarick Old Guarders and their superior related species. Alongside this undead, were said to be Gargantua, a Siege Golem who can be transported outside of Nazarick by opening up the "Gate" spell for it to pass through. It is unknown what their exact numbers are, but the Sorcerer Kingdom was able to field around six thousand of the various Nazarick Guarders within a matter of days during the conquest of the Great Lake. After the conquest, Ainz has been continuously creating undead minions through the collection of corpses from all parts of the region near Nazarick in order to strengthen Nazarick’s military power.

During his journey to the Dwarf Kingdom, Ainz noted that he could infinitely replenish his forces at any point in time. By casting the "Gate" spell from wherever the caster is position at, Ainz or Shalltear can send in POP monsters from Nazarick to overwhelm their foe continuously in sheer numbers. Even if they were destroyed, the monsters would respawn on their own every once in a while, at no cost to the guild's finance.[64] Ainz recognized the fact that their army's manpower cannot be worn down over time no matter the losses they faced. However, he decided to keep that tactic a confidential secret from his opposition ever knowing about it. He states that it was his intention to fool the opposition into thinking that the Sorcerer Kingdom's army is limited in personnel.[65]

With each conquest, the Sorcerer Kingdom has acquired many new allies whether it be secret organizations, kingdoms, or tribes of demi-humans. Such allies happen to range from their leaders, which possess genius-level leadership skills or something in a different category. Though they may not be to the standard of Nazarick by YGGDRASIL's standards, these individuals (in the New World) are considered a rarity whether by strength or skill.

Before the Fall of the Re-Estize Kingdom, it has been stated that the Sorcerer Kingdom is expanding its military force by adding many demi-human species and a few humans, which are being trained and organized by Cocytus.

As of the Fall of the Re-Estize Kingdom, a group of nobles who defected are remaining to govern the new lands.

Foreign Relations

The Sorcerer Kingdom is the newest nation by far to have been recently established in the New World. Though the territory it compromises was - at first - as small as its population, the nation is continuously growing in strength over the course of time, with each new conquest and acquisition of resources. In the first months of its emergence, the nation had already attained the reputation of having the strongest military might within the region which is feared by all neighboring countries.

Baharuth Empire

The Baharuth Empire is an allied nation of the Sorcerer Kingdom. It was the first human nation to make official contact with Nazarick after Count Femel's workers intentionally invaded the sacred tomb. It faced annihilation by just two of Nazarick's Floor Guardians, though the situation defused thanks to the cooperation of the Bloody Emperor.

While the Empire seems to have negotiated a truce with Nazarick, in actuality, its emperor is scheming the downfall of Nazarick after seeing the potential dangers of a non-human state so close to the human nations. Under this ruse of peace, the Empire has formally recognized the Sorcerer Kingdom of Nazarick. Along the way, the Empire has officially allied itself with the Sorcerer Kingdom during the war effort against the Re-Estize Kingdom.

After the Massacre at Katze Plains, the Empire secretly plots to betray the Sorcerer Kingdom and go against the alliance they promised together. However, when Jircniv ends up being confronted by the Sorcerer King about it, he caved in to the pressure of being caught red-handed and gave up the thought of resisting the Sorcerer Kingdom. As their scheme had supposedly been seen through, the Empire (more specifically the Bloody Emperor) became deeply demoralized by the sheer power of the Sorcerer King. This deprived them from gaining any potential allies to form a coalition against Ainz Ooal Gown, thus it totally submitted to the Sorcerer Kingdom, becoming a vassal state. Instead of becoming enemies in the future, even upper echelons from the Empire's military army refuses to support the notion of entering warfare with the Sorcerer Kingdom.

Under the strict guidance of the Sorcerer Kingdom, the Empire has now gone through several changes and reforms for things such as the Adventurer's Guild being more open to other races beside humans. The nation now became much more dependent on the Sorcerer Kingdom by utilizing their exported undead for manual labor and agricultural work-force. This even goes for their military usage, with two of the Empire's Legion now being dismantled and replaced with the undead borrowed from the Sorcerer Kingdom. It insures the Empire's continued loyalty to the Sorcerer's Kingdom as they now have a sizable chunk of their undead army within the Empire and to give the Knights who were traumatized during the events of the Massacre at Katze Plains an early retirement.

This vassalization in turn ironically strengthened and solidified Jircniv's rule over the Empire due to now having the backing of the terrifying Sorcerer King and effectively shutting up any form of opposition left in the Empire against his rule, removing a gigantic administrative burden from the Emperor's shoulders and lightening his initial views on the Sorcerer King. Also due to his interaction with the Quagoa Leader Pe Riyuro, who went through similar demoralization at the hands of the Sorcerer King and his servants, caused the two to become close friends and causing the Emperor to slowly warm up to the Sorcerer Kingdom's pro-equality to all races as he began to see and accept the Demi-Human as an equal.

Dwarf Kingdom

The Sorcerer Kingdom and the Dwarf Kingdom initially did not interact with each other, until Ainz Ooal Gown took an interest in their runecraft. Thus, with Albedo and Demiurge taking care of the vassalization of the Empire and annexation of the Kingdom, the Sorcerer King switched his focus to the Dwarf Kingdom.

The Sorcerer Kingdom sent out an expedition to the Dwarf Kingdom which had made its way to the Dwarf Kingdom's former capital, Feo Raidho. However, the delegation found the city to be abandoned until they found a lone dwarf who explained the nation's plight under the Quagoa and Frost Dragons. The Sorcerer King then decided to take full advantage of this to establish friendly relations with the dwarves. He offered them his Undead to use as laborers and to end Quagoa and Frost Dragon's threat in return for them transferring all practitioners of runecraft to the Sorcerer Kingdom.

The Sorcerer King did as promised, subjugated the Quagoa and Frost Dragons, offering up his nation's undead soldiers to them. In turn, the Dwarves held up their end of the bargain as well and handed over all practitioners of runecraft. There are also plans to allow citizens of both countries to freely migrate between each other. Unfortunately, all of this was undermined by the dwarves' Forgemaster running off with a piece of ingot given to him by Ainz as a sign of goodwill.

In order to defuse the situation and fearing Ainz's wrath, the Dwarves attempted to appease the Sorcerer King by offering him several high class dwarven made armor to make up for the lost ingot while silently cursing the Forgemaster for his actions. Thankfully and unknowingly to the Dwarves, the ingot Ainz gave away was not in fact, by YGGDRASIL Standards, a powerful ore and thus was not an actual threat against him and happily and peacefully accepted the armors and continuing their positive relations with the Sorcerer Kingdom.

This positive relationship with the Dawrves eventually continued and evolved into a prosperous trade relationship where the Dwarf Kingdom have now begun using the Sorcerer Kingdom's undead exports in their mining, agricultural and possibly even military uses. And immigration between the two nations have now seemingly become the norm where the Dwarf people were greatly delighted by the Panlope of delicious ale, beer and food offered by the Sorcerer Kingdom.

Roble Holy Kingdom

Before the founding of the Sorcerer Kingdom, Demiurge was sent to the Holy Kingdom to collect information. Demiurge seemed to have developed an interest with the Holy Kingdom, as he originally intended to stage the "Demonic Disturbance" there.

After the founding of the Sorcerer Kingdom, Demiurge once again visited the Holy Kingdom to further collect information. When the Sorcerer Kingdom finished its business with the Dwarf Kingdom, Demiurge began to set his plans into motion, using his Jaldabaoth persona to hide his connections to the Sorcerer Kingdom. It has also been implied that he was responsible for the mysterious disappearances of several of the Holy Kingdom's citizens and likely had them skinned to produce magic scrolls.

Despite its unholy constitution, the Holy Kingdom recognized the Sorcerer Kingdom as a sovereign country. While a majority of its citizens were disgusted by the idea of an undead ruling a nation, the Kingdom still allowed merchants to freely travel to and trade with the Sorcerer Kingdom.

The Sorcerer Kingdom would later be considered in higher regard to the common people, no doubt due to the efforts of Ainz Ooal Gown in defeating Jaldabaoth and reclaiming the entire northern part of the Kingdom. In addition, there was a movement led by Neia Baraja, adulating the benevolence of the Sorcerer King. Unbeknownst to the Kingdom, this was all orchestrated by Demiurge in order to establish a foothold within the populace's hearts. His intention was to cause friction between them and the ruling class for an inevitable annexation in the future.

By the time the war with the Re-Estize Kingdom had started, the Holy Kingdom has been progressively been rebuilding itself and has been receiving a steady amount of grains from them in order to ease their food rations further intensifying their positive relationship with the Roble Holy Kingdom and boosting the Sorcerer Kingdom's positive public image with the Human Race.

Eventually after a nobleman from the Re-Estize Kingdom had stolen a grain shipment meant for humanitarian aid for the Roble Holy Kingdom, the Holy Kingdom was shown to be more than willing to condemn their fellow human nation and support the Sorcerer Kingdom's declaration of war against the Re-Estize for not only betraying the trust of the Sorcerer Kingdom, but further depraving the Holy Kingdom of their much needed relief rations.

Re-Estize Kingdom

Re-Estize Kingdom and the Sorcerer Kingdom were at odds with one another due to territorial disputes. Prior to this, relations between Nazarick and the Kingdom were not so hostile. At the beginning of Nazarick's explorations of the New World, the Kingdom was the first nation that was encountered. Ainz Ooal Gown himself even saved and befriended its strongest warrior, Gazef Stronoff.

After several months of infiltrating the Kingdom, however, the hierarchy of Nazarick, unfortunately, decided that the Kingdom offered no appeal, deeming it to be the weakest of the neighboring human nations. In fact, operations in the Kingdom only continued to bolster the career of Ainz's adventurer persona, "Momon."

However, the non-human nation later allied with the Empire to fight against the Kingdom in their annual war, resulting in the destruction of the Royal Army and the near political collapse of the Re-Estize Kingdom. After the war, the two kingdoms opened formal relations to better understand each other. However, the Sorcerer Kingdom is also looking for a casus belli, so it was only a matter of time before it invaded the Kingdom.

Inevitably, the two nations came into conflict once again after the Kingdom's nobility attacked one of the Sorcerer Kingdom's carriages. With Re-Estize Kingdom completely destroyed, diplomatic relations between the two nations no longer exist anymore as the Sorcerer Kingdom took all of their former territory for themselves.

Slane Theocracy

Though there existed several unofficial skirmishes between the two powers, the Sorcerer Kingdom of Nazarick and the Slane Theocracy have yet to establish any real political relations. By chance, a war will likely erupt between the two powers as the mere thought of the Sorcerer Kingdom being a non-human state is intolerable towards a nation like Slane Theocracy who supports human supremacy. Due to this belief, some denizens from Nazarick such as Albedo believe that the Theocracy is considered to be one of the greatest threats to their nation.

However, with the annual war happening between the Empire and the Kingdom, the Theocracy has come to mutual terms and declared neutrality against the Sorcerer Kingdom refusing to participate. In turn, Ainz has not made any formal contact with the Theocracy so far.

Argland Council State

Before the founding of the Sorcerer Kingdom, Ainz Ooal Gown wanted to learn more about the Argland Council State but was ultimately unable to send any spies due to Nazarick being understaffed. Interest in the nation would be roused with the appearance of Riku Aganeia and his possible connection to the Platinum Dragon Lord. After the destruction of the Re-Estize Kingdom, plans were made to send envoys to the Council State.

Dragon Kingdom

For now, the Sorcerer Kingdom has made no attempt to make contact with the Dragon Kingdom. Dragon Queen Draudillon has been informed about the founding of the new nation, but she chose to ignore it.

However during the events of the Fall of the Re-Estize Kingdom, its been shown that the Sorcerer Kingdom and Dragon Kingdom have now entered into diplomatic talks and even possibly an alliance due to them approving of the Re-Estize Kingdom's condemnation and placing their national seal on the document approving of the Sorcerer Kingdom's actions. Although unspecified, its been theorized that the Dragon Kingdom simply went along with it due to the Sorcerer Kingdom offering much more appeal to them than the failing/corrupt Re-Estize Kingdom.

Though later it is revealed that the Dragon Kingdom developed closer ties with the Sorcerer Kingdom, with the former purchasing undead from the latter.

Karsanas City-State Alliance

The Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown has heard of the City-State Alliance, but the nation currently has no plans of making contact with it as of now. However, the Sorcerer Kingdom happens to be well-aware that there are spies from the City-State Alliance present in their nation's territory and is keeping close tabs on them for now.

Currently the higher-ups of the City States have a mixed opinion on the newly formed Sorcerer Kingdom due to the multiple vague or made up rumors floating around the cities' citizens and officials due to the geological distance between the Alliance and the Sorcerer Kingdom. One of those rumors being that the Sorcerer Kingdom has now successfully assimilated the infamous Ijaniya, an assassin group whose main power base is within the City State, into their ranks. This and the lack of accurate informants only increases the wariness of the nation's higher ups on the Sorcerer Kingdom.

Trivia

  • Ainz Ooal Gown utilizes his Guild's banner as the official country flag to represent the Sorcerer Kingdom.
  • Like the Eight Greed Kings, the Sorcerer Kingdom is also attempting world domination.
  • The Sorcerer Kingdom is considered an existential threat among its neighboring human countries such as the Slane Theocracy and the Roble Holy Kingdom.
  • Demiurge theorized that Ainz's way of spreading the undead around surely must be to encourage the other nations to rely on the Sorcerer Kingdom rather than viewing their army of undead as a threat.
  • Among various possibilities of how to run the Sorcerer Kingdom and the aim of ruling E-Rantel, Ainz thought of:
    • By farming wheat and the like, and tossing them into the Treasury’s Exchange Box, he could obtain coins which could be used to strengthen the Great Tomb of Nazarick. The country would then become one whose sole aim was to produce currency.
    • He could breed and slaughter humans, thus, making the country produce experience points that would be stored within the World Item, Avarice and Generosity.
    • He could hand over all production tasks and work to the undead, making it a country where the living did not need to work.
