Kyuku Zuzu (キュクー・ズーズー) is one the five chieftains of the five lizardmen tribes, whom fought against the first undead army, and was amongst the few surviving lizardmen whom fought against Cocytus.
Appearance[]
Kyuku Zuzu wears a white armor that emits a soft magical gleam. He is equipped with one of the Four Treasures of the Lizardmen, White Dragon Bone Armor that was made from the bones of the frost dragon and enchanted with magic.
Personality[]
Being the chieftain of Razor Tail, Kyuku Zuzu originally must have been a very intelligent being. However, after equipping the White Dragon Bone, he reduced to speaking simple sentences as the White Dragon Bone converts intelligence into the hardening of the armor. In addition, most of the wielders of White Dragon Bone have become mentally disabled after wearing it, the current chieftain of Razor Tail must have an extremely high intelligence.
Background[]
It's unknown on how Kyuku Zuzu became the chieftain, though it is said that the Razor Tail had never decided the position of chieftain through physical combat. It may be because of his intelligence that he became chief of the tribe.
Chronology[]
The Lizard Man Heroes Arc[]

Kyuku Zuzu was part of the meeting that decided how the Lizardmen Alliance would fight their enemy. Kyuku Zuzu suggested that the lizardmen should not fight a defensive stance because of their disadvantageous in terrain. During the battle, he stayed behind as a garrison alongside Shasuryu Shasha and Sukyu Juju.
Kyuku Slayed by Cocytus
After the defeat of the undead army, he along with their remaining forces were greeted by the forces of Nazarick led by Ainz Ooal Gown. It was revealed that he and his forces must defeat one person by the name of Cocytus if they want their tribesmen to successfully escape alive.[3][4] A day or two later, knowing that they have no chance to win but still deciding that they must at least challenge this Cocytus, the lizardmen picked out the fifty most elite warriors among the lizardmen and then went to fight against him. He was one of the few not affected by Cocytus' passive skill. He attacked Cocytus but was killed by the latter's God Slaying Emperor Blade and was cut in half alongside his armor.[5][6]
The Craftsman of Dwarf Arc[]

Kyuku Zuzu is later revealed to be one of the lizardmen that were resurrected by Ainz. He delivered a message from his liege, Cocytus to his master, Ainz Ooal Gown in E-Rantel. Ainz welcomed the former chieftain and questioned him about Zaryusu Shasha and his knowledge on the dwarves of the Azerlisia Mountains. He reported that Zaryusu was doing well but sadly has very little experience with the dwarves and suggested that Ainz speaks with Zenberu Gugu.[7]

Mass for the Dead Arc[]

Kyuku Zuzu was speaking with Shasuryu to bring Razor Tail into an alliance with Green Claw. It was then Zaryusu brought representatives from Nazarick and heard about the ghost sightings in the Great Forest of Tob. Kyuku proved to be a valuable asset as he pointed them in the direction of an entity that might be responsible for the ghost haunting, the Demon Snake of the West as he previously encountered the being in the past.[8]
The chieftain of Razor Tail would attend a feast held for Cocytus, Slimeko and the protagonist at the village of Green Claw. There Zenberu Gugu challenged Cocytus to a duel which the latter accepted. To test their skills against the Floor Guardian, Kyuku and Zaryusu joined the bout. Though they were defeated in the end the warriors gained respect from Cocytus.[9]
Kyuku Zuzu would attend another tribal meeting this time composed of the Lizardmen Alliance's chieftains such as Shasuryu and Zenberu. At the same time an unnatural cold wave hit the wetlands, coming from the mountains. Due to the weather, many monsters began to migrate to escape the cold and head towards the lake. Kyuku and his fellow lizardmen not only had to fight the aggressive beasts but try to stay warm amid the freezing temperatures. Cocytus came to their aid lending his forces and sword to fight the encroaching monsters. To keep the lizardmen from freezing Cocytus ordered that the heatstones that wee to be shipped to Nazarick be used to warm themselves. To solve what was causing this change in weather, members of the Pleiades agreed to find the source of the abnormality. Kyuku and his fellows saw them off and wished them luck. He later thanked the Pleiades for saving their home and joined the celebration of the tribes.[10]
Some time after the protagonist permanently immigrated to E-Rantel to coordinate with the Tripartite Alliance, the chieftain of Razor Tail was present when Crusch Lulu of Red Eye was introduced to Cocytus. There Kyuku teased the Crusch and Zaryusu that they should hurry and have children much to the female lizardman's embarrassment. He and the other chieftains affirmed their wish to pay back the aid that Nazarick and the Supreme One had given them and asked Cocytus to relay the message to his master.[11]
For the upcoming Sorcerer Kingdom's National Foundation Ceremony Day, Zenberu thought that Kyuku would be more suited to going to the event on behalf of the lizardmen.[12] In the end Kyuku stayed behind to lead the village with Zenberu while Shasuryu, Crusch and Zaryusu attended the National Foundation Ceremony Day.[13]
The lizardmen were graced by a visit from an entourage from the Sorcerer Kingdom when the village was celebrating Zaryusu's union with Crusch. The visitors included not just the usual faces, but none other than Prime Minister Albedo. For a change the lizardmen were sought help from their patrons, concerning information on usable fiber plants from the Tob Forests that could be used for fabrics. Sadly Kyuku despite being the most knowledgeable lizardman in the entire village had no answer as the lizardmen did not forage the forests for plants or fruits much and only sent hunters there to harvest wood.[14]
The lizardmen received another visit from the Sorcerer Kingdom, when the protagonist and Slimeko bringing Aura Bella Fiora and Mare Bello Fiore seeking the lizardmen's assistance in aquatic combat training for an upcoming scout mission to an isolated island. Kyuku along with Shasuryu and Zaryusu agreed to oversee the combat training for the elves. After the training was done he witnessed Zaryusu Shasha formally requested to join the mission to the island.[15]
After Zaryusu returned with an agreement from the Sorcerer King to allow the lizardmen use of the island as a fishery, Zaryusu tried to apologize for acting without their consent, but the chieftain was not angry as he and the others felt that the traveler had their people’s future in mind when he made the deal.[16]
Shortly after the village of lizardmen took a human woman under their care, a mass of Chaos Beasts emerged from the Tob Forest to attack the village. Kyuku and Zenberu quickly alerted the chieftain and his family of the situation, before heading to the mount a defense of the village.[17]
Some months after the Calamity of Cracks, Kyuku and the other tribal leaders received a visit from Slimeko and Renner Theiere Chardelon Ryle Vaiself, representatives of the Sorcerer Kingdom, who informed them that the lizardmen's request for an ice room was approved. In addition, the representatives wanted to include an ice statue of Momonga inside it, a feature Kyuku accepted.[18]
Afterwards, when the lizardman village received a surprise visit from the Sorcerer King, on his way to the "first sunrise", bringing New Year's gifts of fish made from using magic, Kyuku expressed his utter surprised that the Sorcerer Kingdom could create food.[19]
Abilities and Powers[]
Kyuku Zuzu is one of the users of the Four Treasures of the Lizardmen, White Dragon Bone, which sacrifices the intelligence of the user in exchange for power. It would turn harder than steel, matching mithril's hardness or even the legendary adamantite. His armor is strong enough to deflect all the weapons of the lizardmen.
He also uses a spear that has blades on both ends of the tips and seems to use it as his primary weapon and is quite efficient with it.

Kyuku Zuzu respects and fears Ainz Ooal Gown. During their short conversation, he showed no signs of disrespect and was completely courteous with the Overlord.
Trivia[]
- In Volume 11, his name known as Kyuku Zuzu is formally revealed.
- Kyuku's intelligence has seemingly returned to him after his resurrection.
